WE HONOR OUR ANCESTORS
AND WALK WITH THEM AT KENNEKUK COVE

On July 10 of 2011, during a business meeting at the 56th
Jarvis Reunion, it was decided by
the cousins attending that we make a move to honor our ancestors by purchasing a
double brick to be put into the sidewalk around the buildings at Kennekuk Cove
Park in Danville. This decision had been previously talked about at last year's
reunion and this was why we held the silent auction this year to raise funds. It
was also decided to purchase single bricks to be placed near the double brick ,
with those single bricks honoring the nine children in the Jarvis family. The
reunion committee is paying for the brick for Russell, Pearl, and Elva and the
other six family's will pay for theirs separately. Mike and Wanda Jarvis are in
charge of working with the families.
We told you about the Reunion and missed seeing you.

Hopefully, you will try again next year.

HONORING OUR
ANCESTORS
Eighty Jarvis cousins gathered at Kennekuk Park in Danville
on July 10 to observe the 56th Jarvis Reunion to picnic and visit and
exchange stories of the past and present.
A silent auction was held to raise money for a double brick which will be placed
in the sidewalk surrounding the park gazebo, where our 50th Reunion
pictures were taken near the old Red Oak school house that many Jarvis relatives
attended. This is the wording that was decided on at the business meeting to
place on the double brick. Wanda and Mike Jarvis will be in charge of the exact
wording and cost of the brick. It was also decided that single bricks would be
purchased and placed as close as possible to the larger brick signifying the
nine children of the Jarvis family. Enough money was raised at the auction to
pay for the double brick and we also will pay for a single brick containing
Russell, Pearl, and Elva’s names. It was also decided that the families of Nina,
Edith, William, Nellie, Walter, and Carl would be responsible for those
individual bricks. Inscriptions would be the individual family’s decision.
Below is only a facsimile of the double brick we are purchasing
