THE JARVIS HOMESTEAD

This photo was donated for use on the website by Joy Castello. Not many of us left that still
remember the front gate leading out to the garden or the big barn behind the house. The picture was probably taken @ 1925-1930 from the hillside along the gravel road where the mailbox used to be. The first thing
I noticed was there was no front porch, so it was before my time. When the branch was flooded,
the mail stayed up on the road for a few days or you waded across to get it.

AND THIS ONE I JUST ADDED

The old church at Newtown, IL with a surrounding cemetery where many of our descendants are buried.

THE JARVIS FAMILY IS ON THE INTERNET
