DEAN HICKMAN MARKS 90TH
BIRTHDAY

Numerous friends and relatives gathered at the Community Church of God in Danville on April 7, 2012 to pay tribute to the most senior cousin in our large Jarvis family. The following is a collection of pictures from my Jarvis file. I could only imagine the photo gallery she has accumulated over 90 years, with two children and many grandchildren. Happy Birthday, Dean.

Standing tall among us all

A 1935 photo of Dean with seven cousins and grandpa and grandma Jarvis. Fourteen more first cousins followed to make the original twenty-one.

Above are a few thumbnail pictures from my collection

The last three pictures are from a previous birthday celebration.

JACK TAYLOR FAMILY
 UPDATE  2010-2011

Thought maybe it was time to let you know how things change in just a one-year span in the Jack Taylor family and I'm sure it holds true for most of the cousins as grand-children leave the home nests and move on to open their own doors of life's surprises and achievements, or new arrivals appear to bring more family members. In the past year,  six new family members have taken refuge in the Jack and Carolyn Taylor family and we welcome them.

Jennifer Taylor and David Hill were married on August 20th of this year, Shannon Taylor and Ashley Johnson were married on July 12, 2010, Rachael Taylor and Chad Christensen were married on April 19, 2011, Jonathan Taylor and Sarah Amlin were married on August 20, 2010, and David Taylor and Amanda McGill were married on March 12, 2011 .

And Michael Alexander Taylor entered the world as a newborn in September of 2010. His parents are Brad and Nicolle Taylor of Denver, Colo. and he joins two brothers.

The Reverend Gary Taylor became Doctor Gary Taylor and is currently on the staff of Corban College in Oregon.

Diana and Greg Vocks are still serving as church hostesses at a retreat in Austria. Carolyn continues to work in insurance and I try to keep supplying you with Jarvis info.

And last on the list of happenings, 30 family members gathered at the Beef House in Covington to  help yours truly

celebrate his 76th birthday on July 2nd

Attendees included Dick and Susan Hickman from Florida and Melody and Gary Taylor from Oregon.
And a phone call to the restaurant from Austria from Diana and Greg. It was fun.

AND I DANCED WITH MY YOUNGEST AT HER WEDDING IN AUGUST.

Keith Turner Family Site Updated

In a recent e-mail from Myra Turner, we received news to allow us to look in on their family.

(Not sure where to begin with updating, but here goes.)

Keith & I are still both working part-time at the golf course during the summer and playing as time allows.
Keith had a knee replaced in March,2009 and was back playing golf in May. Wished he had
had it done sooner.
In June, 2010, he had open heart surgery to have valve replaced and 2 bypasses.
He has done really well with that also.
We have spent the last two winters in N. Carolina, where our girls and their husbands are.
Celena, our granddaughter, came to N C in 1998 to go to school. She met her husband, Ben Surface here.
They were married in N C in Sept,2005, and live in Mooresville, N C.
Ben works for Rousch racing and Celena is an aesthetician.
They have now blessed us with a great granddaughter. Ella Marie was born Oct. 24,2010
she weighed in at 7 lbs 8 oz and was 20 in long.
Terri and her husband, Russ moved to N C in 2007 when Terri had the opportunity to relocate with her work.

They live in Mint Hill, N C (small town just outside of Charlotte).
I will try and send pictures if I can do it on computer.
Take care,
Myra

(Footnote)
The pictures of the new arrival came thru from Terri and we all welcome Ella to the the Jarvis family.
